Update on the BC Provincial Nominee Programs

The Immigration Levels Plan for 2017 of Canada aims to welcome 54,000 new permanent residents for 2017. British Columbia is one of the Canadian provinces that have been busy in the first half of the summer as it continues to offer graduates, entrepreneurs, workers, and their families a chance to become permanent residents through the BC Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).


British Columbia can nominate individuals who applied through the province’s various immigration streams. Among them are the BC PNP Express Entry streams aligned with that of the federal government’s Express Entry. However, an applicant received additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System and an Invitation to Apply for permanent residency a result of the improvements in the nomination. In particular, BC has been busy over the past weeks and months searching for IT/Tech professionals. However, the province continues to also set its eyes on non-tech workers and graduates.
