The 2016 TechTalentBC Report disclosed that the gap between talent demand and supply in the technology sector does not only exist; it is also increasing. It foresees that by 2021, additional new jobs in BC may reach 47,000. However, the condition of current supply indicates the province’s capacity to fill only 16,500 new jobs. This is why the province of British Columbia launched the BC PNP Tech Pilot. As this initiative aims to help BC tech companies grow, it will perform priority process to fast-track the processing of permanent residency applications.  This initiative will primarily hold weekly tech-only invitations to apply to individuals who are registered with BC PNP and who have work experience and a job offer for one of the 32 tech occupations in BC.
