What Should You Expect!

Canada Express Entry, Canada Express Entry: What Should You Expect!

Because you dream of a better life for your family, you plan to apply for Canada permanent residence. You heard about the Canada Express Entry. What is it? What should you expect from it? Continue your read.

Canada Express Entry is not an immigration program.

Make no mistake: this is not one of the many Canada immigration programs. Implemented in January 2015, Canada Express Entry is a system used in receiving and processing applications for permanent residence. As the term implies, it aims to make the entire immigration process faster.

Having the dream is not enough.

It’s not enough that you have the dream to immigrate to Canada. You have to plan everything before you apply through the Canada Express Entry. Ask yourselves these questions:

  • Why do I want to go to Canada? Specific objectives, please.
  • How do I plan to settle in the country?
  • Do I have the funds necessary to apply for Canada permanent residence?
  • Should I go first or should I already bring my family with me?
  • Which province should I settle?
  • How can I obtain a job offer?
  • What are the challenges that I (and my family) should expect to face?

Remember, you have to be realistic with your questions and truthful with your answers. Don’t paint a very beautiful life picture in your mind — at least not yet. It takes hard work and commitment to be successful.

There are eligibility requirements.

Before starting anything else, know the eligibility requirements. If you are a skilled worker, you need at least 67 points to become eligible. Check your eligibility for the Canada Express Entry here. If you found out you are not eligible to apply for permanent residence, no worries. You may still hope. Find ways to improve your CRS score.

Comparatively speaking, in 2017, 86,023 Invitations to Apply for permanent residence were issued. This number is higher than the total number of ITAs issued in 2015 and 2016. This only means that the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or IRCC welcomes more and more economic migrants to the country through the Canada Express Entry.
