Immigrate to Canada Under
the BC PNP Tech Pilot
Are you an internationally trained worker? Or an international student who graduated in B.C. or Canada, with skills required for the technology sector of the province? The BC PNP Tech Pilot is yet another way of securing your chances of immigrating to Canada!
The British Columbia recently issued invitations for the provincial nomination that prioritized candidates with a job offer in one of the 32 eligible occupations under the BC PNP Tech Pilot. Launched in 2017, the BC PNP Tech Pilot aims to help the province attract and retain foreign tech workers and graduates in British Columbia.
Are You Eligible for the BC PNP Tech Pilot?
To be eligible, you must register for the BC’s unique Skilled Immigration system. You must also meet eligibility criteria for one the BC PNP Skills Immigration Stream and Express Entry BC categories.
Advantages of Being in the BC PNP Tech Pilot
- Being a tech worker, the program prefers you over other newcomers to Canada.
- Additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points and an Invitation to Apply for a future Express Entry Draw. Candidates invited under the Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker and Express Entry BC: International Graduate may receive 600 additional points. That is if their provincial nomination application is successful. This means they may be in a better position to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) at a later Express Entry Draw. Take note that the ITA for the BC PNP is not the same as the ITA issued at the federal level.
- Applicants with lower scores get ITAs than the previous non-tech draw conducted on March 21.
- Skilled workers and graduates often receive ITAs, just like in the latest draw that took place on April 4.
Having the assurance as such, would you want to see your name on the list of the BC PNP Tech pilot applicants invited? Candidates invited through the Skills Immigration categories will have their applications for permanent residence processed outside the Express Entry system. This is after they receive a nomination from BC. The BC PNP will make sure your residency in Canada is not too far from reality.
